Research Area

The research topics can be assigned to 3 areas:

Research topics area A (Metallic materials):

  1. Thermo-dynamical and kinetic investigation of electrochemical structuring
  2. Critical reaction mechanisms for electrochemical, self-organized 3D structuring on the microscale
  3. Development and applications of microstructured CBN-grinding wheels for high power/high speed grinding of highly heat resisting materials
  4. Wetting and charge transfer in electroplating
  5. Microblade formation during high speed grinding of nickel based alloys
  6. Shaping of non-ionic materials via ultra precision structuring (by means of physical principles using geometrically defined blades)
  7. Micro- and Nano surface structuring by electroplating using anodic polarization

Research topics area B (Ceramics and Polymers) :

  1. Structuring of non-conducting ceramics by erosion
  2. Structured ceramic thin films and composite systems out of Soles and Suspensions by means of electrophoretic layer deposition
  3. Ultrasound grinding of free-form and microstructured surfaces
  4. Microstructured polymer-hybrid networks through maskless writing and embossing
  5. Nano- und Microstructures by imprint and colloide-lithography

Research topics area C (simulative process description) :

  1. Interaction on nanostructured surfaces
  2. Analytical investigation of fraction behavior of micro- and nanostructures surfaces
