Kooperatives Promotionskolleg Generierungsmechanismen für Mikrostrukturen - GenMik

The graduate school "Mechanisms of microstructure generation" is providing a new opportunity for graduate students looking for a PhD and is offered by the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität/University of Freiburg (IMTEK) in cooperation with Hochschule Furtwangen University (HFU).

The target of the graduate school is to support young scientists, which are looking for a PhD-programme and research in the topic of microstructuring technology.

The graduate school is an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary approach. The research topics cover a broad range within microtechnology, -ranging from material science to process technology.

The topics are not only interesting in respect to research, but are also of high industrial relevance as the state Baden-Württemberg has a leading position in markets such as nanotechnology, microelectronics, microsystem technology, fine precision engineering and mechanical engineering.

Students working in the graduate school "Mechanisms of microstructure generation" towards their PhD-degree (German equivalent: Dr.-Ing. or Dr. rer. nat) will get not only the scientific qualification but also excellent career opportunities in this field. Especially, this programme (British) will provide excellent career options for industrial R&D positions.
